Ethiopian Meskel Celebration

The origin of this celebration of the feast of the cross tells us in writing and orally that the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified was so revered by Christians that the Jews zealously threw it into the rubbish for 300 years. However, in A.D. 326, Queen Elena, the mother of Constantine, discovered the site of the crucifixion, according to a historian and elder named Syracuse. Then when she was burning incense, she dug a hole in the ground and took out the cross.

Timket Celebration

One of the most important festivals on the Ethiopian calendar, Timket is celebrated across the country. Timket is an Orthodox Christian occasion to mark the baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan. People travel to Ethiopia to take part in Timkat which involves processions, singing, and dancing.

Timkat commemorates Christ’s baptism and takes place over 3 days. The most important day is the 19th of January and this is when the blessing of water and reaffirming of baptism vows to take place.

Taste of Ethiopia

Taste of Ethiopia Festival is a festival organized by Numondo Events in various countries abroad to promote Ethiopian culture, dress, food, and coffee, dance, and tourist attractions. This is a festival designed to promote the country and attract tourists to Ethiopia, which is expected to increase the number of tourists.

Test of Ethiopia Festival will be held regularly in Djibouti and the United States. In particular, we are working extensively with the global Trading Network in the United States. We plan to take this great festival to various countries in the world.
